It's been six years and everyday I receive a
great deal of contacts via this website. Most
of the vibrant, exciting people who contact us are
professional women who wish to enlarge their circle
in Paris. I can certainly understand their needs.
As women, we often need another purpose, something
that is outside of our duties as wives, mothers,
bosses and caretakers. We crave to be able to share
and relax with people who don't have to be like us,
but who understand us. In short, women need
girlfriends.
During my first two years in Paris, I was deeply
depressed. I had no friends, no close relatives,
no family, and no language. All I had was my son and his
love and although he remains the well of all my hopes and
motivation, I now also have the friendship, warmth and support
of readers and friends from all over the world. To me, this is
both priceless and indispensable. Not all of my encounters have
been pleasant. Believe me, I have come out of some bad business
deals with people I thought were friends, but in the end, they
have taught me how to separate the true from the fake and how to
conduct business with different types of people. You can do that, too.
I encourage all of you to visit this site
frequently with your questions, concerns, comments,
and an expressed desire to network with others
here. And you men-don't hide! We crave your
point of view, as well. You need not live in Paris
to contribute; all ideas about Paris are
welcome. We'll take a look at it and see if it
works for us. Mostly, we encourage you to post in
our forums, write to our editors and journalists, get involved! You'll be surprised at the
feedback you receive.
Your presence and sharing are important to all
of us at Paris Woman and so from all of us around
the world who work to make this site your home, we
say, "Merci and bonne chance."
