Life Without the Internet...

A few days ago when I woke up, I turned on my computer, clicked on Outlook to check my emails, nothing came up. It could not find the server. I signed onto MSN messenger, nothing happened. It told me to check my ID and password. I opened Explorer to access the Internet, page was blank. Google could not be found.

"Humm…" I said to myself. "What is going on the net today?"

Disappointedly, I went to turn on the TV for news on CNN. No image--cable did not work. So I picked up the telephone and called Noos for technical assistance. The phone did not work either. France Telecom did not receive my payment. OK…I grabbed my mobile phone and while I was giving the technician at Noos Cable my client number, the line cut. Then I received an sms saying that my time credit has used up.

Gosh… I felt like a prisoner trapped in my own house. I was completely cut off from the world!

I could not go to a net cafe because I couldn't Google for an address, and I don't keep a directory at home. I have been so depended on the Internet for everything that I do in life now-a-days. I felt the blue while pacing around the house. I could not get myself to do anything else without surfing on the Internet first. I’m addicted to it!!!

Luckily, I had bought a ticket to see the ballet Teshigawara / Lagraa / Kylián at Opera Garnier that night. So, I just did nothing but to read the Newsweek and Time magazines all day long until it’s time to leave for the show.

Wow...I was so stunt to see the inside of the famous and historic Opera House. It's magnificent, totally!!! I was so impressed that I went to treat myself “une coupe de champagne”. Refreshments were served in between break times and I took the opportunity to tour and admire the whole opera house on every floor. The ballet lovers were elegantly sipping their glasses of champagne while chatting to each other about the artistically crafted performances. I felt excited and privileged!

The ballet was terrific with Les Étoiles dancers. There were three different settings and performances. I was sit at the orchestre section just a few rows away from the stage. The show lasted 3 hours--it is something that should not be missed!

Love Me Paris...
