Other Networking Ideas

Flyers encouraging people to contact you to expand their networking contacts posted on the message boards at the American Church, American Library, etc.- the message boards are a great resource (and often checked by Americans) for info about what's going on, what housing and employment options are available, etc.

Contacting www.paris-anglo.com - the directory (yellow pages of sorts) of this site offers a number of good contacts (contact people for businesses and organizations as well as the typical addresses and phone numbers). They also offer features about various issues regarding travel to and life in France.  The team behind the site might offer some networking ideas and/or help, as well, should you contact them.

A final contact possibility might be the Paris Alumnae Network.  I don't have extensive information on the group, but I came across a newsletter (called PANACHE) detailing their upcoming events, and my impression is that they would have much to offer in terms of networking, as one of their express purposes is to aid women in networking with each other in and around Paris. 

They have their own "Women's International Networking Conference" planned for September 27-30, 2001, in Milan, Italy.  Though such a conference will likely involve women from around Europe, if not around the globe, and is probably much larger a function than you might want to join in on, some of the contacts to be made and/or discussions regarding the planning and organization of this conference might help in efforts to create a smaller conference in Paris or simply to expand your network of contact organizations and people. 

The Alumnae Network also offers various seminars, e-mail updates, and a newsletter to its members – all to encourage networking and information exchange among women.  Unfortunately, I don't have any address for the group, only some information regarding how to become a member and how to contribute to their seasonal newsletter.  Here is that information:
